Cyclists meeting Montbéliardes

Departure very late (noon ?) from Mulhouse with the usual chaotic exit from the city before reaching the eurovelo 6.
As décor, it's always the canal or the river or the canalized river or the riverized canal or whatever is the water stream we follow.

Nice pause in Montbéliard, this late summer sun is slowly drying us.

Even in this small town, toilets are free, we can get tap water in a café, and there is free wifi !

The road is cutting through gentle and green mountains, painless except we the canal throws us on some (empty) normal roads. However, we could hardly complain after our Norwegian experience !

The incoming evening make us stop along the greenway to enjoy a table, very agreable for diner and breakfast !

At wake up, we are surrounded by a thick fog, not that cold.

And we keep riding along the canal/river, seeing more and more cows in the fields.

Autumn is slowly arriving as some trees' leaves shift to more reddish colours and begin to fall. We escaped with our migration the usual heatwaves that occur every summer in the South of France. Let's hope we can keep this nice weather...

The countryside is changing quickly, we already forgot the German towns as we go through these quiet dozing villages, either nice or abandoned.
We happen to see several types of ring tower roof decoration, each village showing a different motif.

And here we are in Besançon ! We are quite surprised by this nice city, although devastated by the tramway roadworks (as half of the European cities).

We arrive at Amélie, Michel and their flatmates Amandine and Delphine and have a great and long evening ending in a gaming bar nearby !
